It’s official: we’re delaying New Year for a little while.
Yup, the powers that be have decided that everyone needs some extra time to enjoy what’s left of 2008, so spend that extra leap second wisely; you’ll never know when you need it.
To help you through that long stretch of unknownness, here’s a list of 10 things you could do to occupy the extra time you suddenly have:
- Meditate a little.
- Breathe just a little bit deeper. Exhale slower. Savor the taste of the air leaving your lungs.
- Mentally prepare yourself to count 57, 58, 59, 60, 00 later tonight.
- Pause a little whilst walking and see if you can get both feet off the floor at the same time.
- Attempt Dirk Gently’s method of flying: fall and try to miss the floor.
- Read a completely random web site.
- Conjugate the verb “to be”. In Latin.
- Practice looking cross-eyed. Use a mirror.
- Consider rearranging the pictures on your refrigerator.
- Pontificate. Learn a new word.
- Use the extra second to write an 11th thing to do.
Have a great New Year everyone.
